Christmas in Córdoba, piece by piece

The City Council gathers Córdoba’s Christmas under the Córdoba es Navidad programme. The 2025/2026 edition ran from 21 November to 8 January; the 2026 dates have not been published yet and we will add them as soon as they are.

Lights and video mapping

In 2025 the lights were switched on in calle Cruz Conde. In 2026 the video mapping returns to the façade of the Sánchez Peña market, in plaza de la Corredera, on 18, 19 and 20 December; the times of the showings have not yet been confirmed.

Patios and nativity scenes

Private and institutional patios open at weekends in December, from 17:00 to 21:00, with choirs and zambombas, free of charge. Each year the Concurso de Belenes adds nativity scenes from peñas, parishes and brotherhoods all over the city.

Christmas music

The Muestra de Corales Cordobesas has filled the Teatro Cómico Principal every December since 1992, and the Cantarillo series takes concerts to various churches, with free entry until full. In the theatres there are zambombas, flamenco carols and the Orquesta de Córdoba’s Christmas gala.

With children

The Ice Park ice rink opens on the Vial Norte from 21 November 2026 to 9 January 2027, and next to it stands Chiquilandia, the children’s amusement park. The theatres programme family musicals at weekends.

New Year’s Eve and the Three Kings

Midnight is rung in at plaza de las Tendillas, with a stage and live music. On 5 January the capital’s Cabalgata de Reyes sets off, and towns such as Lucena, Puente Genil, Cabra, Montilla or Priego have their own.

When are the Christmas lights switched on in Córdoba?

The City Council has not yet published the date for 2026. Last time, the Córdoba es Navidad programme began on 21 November and the lights were switched on in calle Cruz Conde. As soon as it is announced, it will appear in the list.

Where can I see nativity scenes in Córdoba?

On the route of the Concurso de Belenes, which in 2025 brought together 27 nativity scenes from private individuals, peñas (social clubs), parishes and brotherhoods. In the province, the Belén de Chocolate in Rute can be visited from 12 October to 5 January.

When do the patios open at Christmas?

On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in December, from 17:00 to 21:00, with choirs, zambombas (flamenco carol gatherings) and campanilleros (traditional carollers). Entry is free.

Where do people eat the twelve grapes in Córdoba?

In plaza de las Tendillas, to the chimes of its clock, which strikes the hours with flamenco guitar notes. It is free and in the open air, and in the morning there is a children’s New Year’s Eve.

When is the Cabalgata de Reyes in Córdoba?

On the evening of 5 January. It runs through the south and centre of the city and ends in plaza del Cristo de Gracia; each year’s route is confirmed in December.
