What it is / What you will see
New Year's Eve in Córdoba is celebrated in the street and its stage is the Plaza de las Tendillas, beside the statue of the Gran Capitán. That is where people eat their twelve grapes in time with the square's clock, which strikes the hours with flamenco guitar chords. In 2025 the night-time party began at 10 pm with background music, continued at 11 pm with a concert by the Córdoba band Tabernícolas and, at 11:50 pm, the journalist Jorge Carmona led the countdown. After the chimes there was a balloon release, fireworks and a second music set until 2:30 am. In the morning, between 10 am and 2 pm, the square hosted a children's New Year's Eve with bouncy castles, chimes for children and the show ‘Las Uvas Mágicas’. The 2026 programme has not yet been presented.
Getting there and tickets
The party is free and outdoors, in the Plaza de las Tendillas, right in the centre of Córdoba. It is best to arrive early, because the square fills up long before midnight, and to get around on foot, as the centre usually has road closures that night. It is organised by Córdoba City Council through the Delegación de Fiestas y Tradiciones, which in 2025 presented the programme on 29 December. The times quoted here are those of the previous edition and serve as a guide until the 2026 line-up is announced. Outlying districts such as El Higuerón and Cerro Muriano also hold their own celebrations.
