An annual competition of nativity scenes created by individuals, associations, social clubs, parishes and brotherhoods, which can be visited over the festive season. In 2025 it held its 44th edition with 27 nativity scenes; the 2026 dates are to be confirmed.

What it is
Visiting nativity scenes is one of the most deeply rooted Christmas customs in Córdoba, and every year the Concurso de Belenes brings together the displays of individuals, associations, institutions, social clubs, schools, parishes, shops, brotherhoods and confraternities. The 2025 edition, the 44th, had 27 nativity scenes in three categories: artistic, traditional and dioramas. The jury assesses artistic merit, detail, good taste and originality in depicting the scenes of the Nativity, rather than the size or richness of the figures. Outside the competition you can see the Belén Municipal, the Kutxabank one in the window of its headquarters and that of the Fundación Kutxabank at the Palacio de Viana.
Getting there and tickets
The nativity scenes are set up in accessible places all over the city and the list of participants can be consulted from the Turismo de Córdoba listing; those in private homes can only be visited by prior telephone appointment. The Belén Municipal is at the Oratorio de San Felipe Neri (Calle San Felipe 55), from 11 am to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm. In 2025 the competition could be visited from 5 December to 5 January; the 2026 dates are to be confirmed. It is organised by the Fundación Kutxabank and the Asociación Belenista de Córdoba.
