All the information

About the event
Lucena's Cabalgata de la Ilusión, organised by the Peña Amigos de los Magos, will set off on 5 January 2027 with 22 floats, the maximum possible. Roadworks on Calle Juan Jiménez Cuenca and Calle El Peso mean part of the route has to change, though it will still pass through the centre.
Key points
- 22 floats, the most the parade can take
- Alternative route because of roadworks in the centre
- In 2026 it set off at 5:30 pm
What it is / What you will see
The Cabalgata de la Ilusión is one of the biggest Three Kings parades in the province and the town's mayor boasts that it is the best in Andalusia. It is organised by the Peña Amigos de los Magos, which has some 2,000 members and has renewed its agreement with the Town Council for 50,000 euros, 10,000 more than the previous year. For 2027 there will again be 22 floats, the maximum number of platforms available. The roadworks on Calle Juan Jiménez Cuenca and Calle El Peso mean an alternative route has to be designed, although the association is looking for the shortest way to join the historic route along Calle San Pedro, La Purísima, the Paseo del Coso and the area around the Plaza Nueva.
Getting there and tickets
The parade goes through the centre of Lucena and can be watched for free from the street. The final 2027 route has not yet been settled because of the roadworks, but it will be similar to the usual one. The time has not been published either: for the 2026 edition the municipal programme announced it from 5:30 pm, so take that as a guide and confirm in December. It is organised by the Peña Amigos de los Magos with the collaboration of Lucena Town Council, which provides the Local Police, operational services and street cleaning.
