An autumn for getting out into the countryside
Lucena Town Council's Environment Department has put together a programme of nature activities running from 10 October until the end of December. It mixes walks through natural areas, craft workshops with natural materials and activities for children, with the aim of bringing residents closer to the landscapes and wildlife of autumn. The first sessions (the senses workshop, the Sendero Botánico Enrique Triano and the nest boxes) have already taken place.
What lies ahead
On Sunday 22 November there is a walk through the Paraje Natural Embalse de Cordobilla to observe plants, wildlife and birds, with coach transport included. The eco Christmas gift workshops are on 21 November (clay earrings, in Las Navas del Selpillar), 28 and 29 November (Christmas decorations, at the Casa de los Mora) and 12 December (leather and cork diaries, in Jauja). During the holidays, on 23 and 30 December, the Biblioteca Municipal hosts Christmas workshops for children aged 6 to 12 from 9:00 to 14:00.
Registration
All activities are free, but you need to sign up beforehand using the Environment Department's form until places run out. Some workshops have a minimum age (8 or 12, with minors accompanied). For queries, the department is at calle Canaleja 22, second floor, and answers at mambiente@aytolucena.es. The walks include a coach, so places are limited.
