What it is
The Matanza Tradicional del Cerdo y Fiesta de la Tapa is one of the long-standing food events of the Córdoba countryside: it now has more than twenty editions behind it in Espejo. Its aim is to promote a heritage deeply rooted in the town, the tradition of the matanza and the artisan making of pork products, and it does so with leisure and cultural activities, a tapas festival and a business promotion programme in the days beforehand. It has the backing of Córdoba Provincial Council through Iprodeco and its Sabor a Córdoba brand. The 2026 edition does not yet have announced dates.
Getting there
Espejo is in the Córdoba countryside and preserves its Castillo Ducal. In 2025 the festival was held on 31 October and 1 and 2 November, around the All Saints' long weekend; the 2026 dates are yet to be confirmed. It is organised by Espejo Town Council with the collaboration of the Provincial Council's Instituto Provincial de Desarrollo Económico. The published information gives no times or prices.
