What it is / What you will see

Holy Week in Moriles, from 21 to 28 March 2027, is that of a small village that lives the Passion in a big way. It has been declared of Andalusian tourist interest since 2001. Its most distinctive feature is the cuarteles, the brotherhood houses, which open their doors to anyone who wants to visit and share a glass of fino with the members, in the heart of Montilla-Moriles wine country. The cycle begins on the Friday of Sorrows and continues until Easter Sunday, with floats such as Nuestro Padre Jesús Preso, whose arrival in the village marked its 125th anniversary in 2026. The village's first brotherhood appears in 1889, 23 years before the municipality was officially founded.

Getting there and tickets

The processions set off from the parish church of San Jerónimo and other churches, and go through the centre of Moriles. Everything is in the street and free. The timetables are published by the brotherhoods during Lent. Moriles is about 70 km from Córdoba on the A-45 and the A-3132, some 50 minutes by car, near Aguilar de la Frontera, Montilla and Lucena. On the Fridays of Lent the cuarteles already open their doors, so it is worth bringing your visit forward.
