Holy Week in Lucena in 2027 brings an important change: Palm Sunday will bring together four brotherhoods and eight floats. The Humildad brotherhood leaves Holy Tuesday and will bring out its three images on that day, with a new route along the Paseo del Coso, the Cuesta del Reloj, the Plaza Nueva and Calle Flores.

What is new in 2027
Holy Week in Lucena in 2027 reorganises its first day. The Agrupación de Cofradías has approved the brotherhood of the Pollinita, the Cristo de la Humildad and the Virgen de los Dolores taking its three images to Palm Sunday. It thus leaves Holy Tuesday, its day of old, for good. With this change, Palm Sunday will have four brotherhoods and eight floats, second only to Maundy Thursday. In the morning El Carmen will go out. In the afternoon, the Pollinita, the Encuentro and the Huerto. The Pollinita is a 1769 carving by Diego Márquez Vega. The brotherhood also approved a new route, only 200 metres longer, which will end at around 2.30 pm.
When to go
Holy Week 2027 runs from Palm Sunday, 21 March, to Easter Sunday, 28 March. The processions go through the historic centre of Lucena, with classic spots such as the Paseo del Coso, the Cuesta del Reloj, the Plaza Nueva and Calle Flores. They can be watched in the street with no ticket. The Agrupación de Cofradías de Lucena will publish the full timetables for each day in the preceding weeks.
