What it is / What you will see
The Fiesta de la Vendimia Montilla-Moriles, declared of tourist interest by the Junta in 1974, celebrates the end of the grape harvest. It is organised by Montilla Town Council, the Hermandad de la Santa Cena y Nuestra Señora de las Viñas and the Consejo Regulador. In 2026 it lasted five days. There was the switching on of the lights, a parade by the Agrupación Musical La Unión, the El Gran Capitán open-air dance and the pasodoble concert by the Banda Pascual Marquina in the Plaza de la Merced. The Vendimiadores Mayores and the Capataz de Campo, de Bodega and de Honor were named, and there was Vendimia Teatral at Bodegas Alvear. On the main day, after the flamenco mass, the procession of the Virgen de las Viñas ended with the treading of the grapes and the offering of the first must.
Getting there and tickets
The events are spread across the Plaza de la Merced, the El Gran Capitán neighbourhood and wineries such as Pérez Barquero and Alvear, in Montilla. The concerts and the street procession are free. Some activities, such as Vendimia Teatral, have their own capacity. In recent years the festival has started on the Thursday of the first week of September. For 2027 it is expected from 2 to 6 September, although the official programme has not come out. Montilla is 45 minutes from Córdoba along the A-45.
