What it is / What you will see
The runs with fighting cows are the centrepiece of the Feria y Fiestas in honour of the Abuela Santa Ana in El Viso, in Los Pedroches, and are declared a Fiesta de Interés Turístico de Andalucía. In 2026 some fifty animals ran over five days. The cows leave the pens in groups of three, spend half an hour in the street and cover about 600 metres along the streets Toriles, El Cristo, Riscalejos and Ramón y Cajal to the bullring, which is set up next to the Town Hall. Residents decorate the route with awnings, crocheted bunting and shawls, and the bars along the way are protected by barriers.
Getting there and tickets
Watching is free from the barriers and shelters along the route, in the centre of El Viso. In 2026 the run was daily at 12 noon and there was another on Saturday at 8 pm. The municipal edict bans under-16s from running and points out that the insurance does not cover those who take part voluntarily. It is organised by the Town Council with the bullfighting club El Corchaito, and there is a medical and security operation. The 2027 dates have not been published. El Viso is an hour and a half from Córdoba along the N-502.
