What is known about the 2027 edition
Almodóvar's fair revolves around the Virgen del Rosario, whose procession goes out on the first Sunday of October. In 2026 the festivities ran from Thursday 1 to Monday 5 October, with two local public holidays, and in 2024 the fair's novillada was on Saturday 5 October, the eve of that Sunday. On that basis, the 2027 edition would fall from Thursday 30 September to Monday 4 October. It usually includes a parade of giants and big-heads, a municipal caseta with dance bands and copla, a novillada (a bullfight with young bulls) in a portable ring, traditional games and the flamenco festival of the Peña La Temporera, which held its 32nd edition in 2026.
Getting there and what to bear in mind
The fairground is in the town of Almodóvar del Río itself, about 25 kilometres from Córdoba along the A-431; you can also get there by local train. Entry to the fairground and the municipal caseta is free; the bullfighting events and some shows may be ticketed. It is organised by the Delegación Municipal de Festejos of Almodóvar del Río Town Council. The dates are an estimate until the programme is published.
