The series of talks with specialists at the Conjunto Arqueológico Madinat al-Zahra closes with two sessions in October: Eduardo Manzano Moreno on the 3rd and Antonio Vallejo Triano on the 17th. A free activity with prior registration on the ARES system.

“Conversaciones en Madinat al-Zahra 2026: en torno a la capital califal” is a programme of sessions with specialists on the city of Abd al-Rahman III, with particular attention to its surrounding territory and landscape, its infrastructure, the imprint of the classical world and its built heritage. After the spring and September sessions, the series bows out in October with two dates. On Saturday 3, the historian Eduardo Manzano Moreno will talk about “Al-Andalus en la España monumental”. On Saturday 17, Antonio Vallejo Triano will close with “La ciudad a la sombra del Alcázar”. They are a chance to hear leading researchers at the very site of the “shining city”.
Getting there and tickets
Both sessions are held at the Conjunto Arqueológico Madinat al-Zahra on Saturdays 3 and 17 October 2026, from 11:00 to 13:00. The activity is free and open to the public, with a capacity of between 30 and 60 people depending on the session, and includes a shuttle to the site if the session calls for it. Registration is individual, opens on the 1st of each month on the ARES booking system, and you need to show the confirmation e-mail on the day of the talk.
