What you will see
DMencia is the longest-running event in the Periféricos programme of the Fundación de Artes Plásticas Rafael Botí, the fruit of collaboration between the Diputación and Doña Mencía town council. Its XXVIII edition, titled “Metamorfosis. Una revolución antropológica”, confronts the pressing social and environmental issues of our time. The open call received 51 proposals from 21 provinces and from countries such as Argentina, Colombia, France, Taiwan and Vietnam, and the curator Moisés Bedmar has selected three projects. From 3 to 17 October “Kypros Bassoa”, by Belén Arévalo, is on show; from 7 to 21 November, “Contar historias (Kóng Kóo)”, by Chou Ming Yi, and from 4 to 21 December, “Volatile”, by Gustavo Fuentetaja.
Getting there and tickets
The three exhibitions are installed one after another at the Casa de la Cultura in Doña Mencía between 3 October and 21 December 2026: “Kypros Bassoa” from 3 to 17 October, “Contar historias (Kóng Kóo)” from 7 to 21 November and “Volatile” from 4 to 21 December. The Diputación's note gives neither opening hours nor a price, so it is worth checking with Doña Mencía town council before making the trip. Organised by the town council and the Diputación de Córdoba's Fundación Botí.
