About the event

Adamuz closes November with the Fiesta del Primer Aceite de San Andrés, one of its chief hallmarks and tied to the town's olive-growing tradition.

  • A festival tied to the new oil and the olive groves
  • Closes Adamuz's autumn programme

What it is / What you will see

The Fiesta del Primer Aceite de San Andrés is, according to the town council itself, one of Adamuz's chief hallmarks and is bound up with the olive-growing tradition of the municipality, surrounded by olive groves between the Guadalquivir plain and the Sierra Morena. It is held for St Andrew's Day, when the mills begin to produce the oil of the new harvest, and it is the finishing touch to the municipal autumn programme, which that weekend also includes the Santa Cecilia concert and an exhibition on Andalusian costumbrismo. It is a good excuse to get to know the town at the height of the olive harvest.

Getting there and tickets

The festival is on Sunday 29 November in Adamuz, about 40 kilometres from Córdoba via the A-4 and the A-3102. The town council has not yet published the detailed programme, with the times, the exact location and the activities. Nor does it give prices. It is worth checking the website adamuz.es in the days beforehand. It is organised by Adamuz town council.
