What it is
“Cuentos que conectan. Historias con valores” is a weekly storytelling session that the Biblioteca Poniente Sur is launching on Friday 2 October and repeating every Friday in October and November. It comes out of a collaboration with Dr Marisol Guerrero Alonso, of the Universidad Loyola's developmental and educational psychology department: it is her students who tell each story, with activities supervised as part of their course and adapted to the language and understanding of the very young. Each story is a way into talking about empathy, friendship, self-esteem, diversity, emotions or cooperation. It is a good Friday afternoon outing for families with children aged 4 to 7 who already enjoy story time and want something more.
Getting there
The activity takes place at the Biblioteca Poniente Sur, part of the Red Municipal de Bibliotecas de Córdoba, every Friday in October and November at 18:00, and lasts about an hour. It is free and needs no prior registration: places are filled on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached, just as with the library's usual story time, so it is worth arriving a little early. It is aimed at children aged between 4 and 7. Organised by the library itself with the Universidad Loyola.
