About the event
The Romería de Santo Domingo (pilgrimage) is held on Sunday 18 April 2027 and goes to the sanctuary of Santo Domingo de Scala Coeli, about 5 kilometres north of the city, founded by San Álvaro de Córdoba in the 15th century. According to the City Council, hundreds of riders, horsewomen in flamenca dress and decorated carts take part, with singing, dancing and perol cordobés (a rice dish cooked outdoors).

Pilgrimage to Scala Coeli
The sanctuary of Santo Domingo de Scala Coeli is about 5 kilometres north of Córdoba and was founded by San Álvaro de Córdoba in the 15th century. Hundreds of riders in country dress, horsewomen in flamenca dress and decorated carts come to the romería. There is singing, impromptu dancing and the perol cordobés, which is offered to visitors.
