A tourism series from Lucena's Delegación de Turismo that combines a guided visit to a monument with a food pairing led by experts. This autumn there are sessions on ice creams and sorbets, olive oils, cocoa and wines, and it ends in December with the presentation of the fresh oils of the DOP Aceites de Lucena.

What it is
Paladares del Jueves is the programme in which Lucena's Delegación de Turismo mixes heritage and food. Each session has two parts: first, a visit led by official guides to one of the town's landmark buildings; then, a pairing led by professionals from the trade. This autumn it is the turn of artisan ice creams and sorbets at the Palacio de los Condes de Santa Ana (8 October), extra virgin olive oil from the D.O. Aceites de Lucena with traditional recipes (15 October), gourmet cocoa at the Casa de los Mora (29 October) and wines with a selection of tapas at Bodegas Ángel Lara, in Las Navas del Selpillar (5 November), and at the Bodega Ruiz Canela (12 November). The series ends on 10 December at the Círculo Lucentino with the presentation of the fresh early-harvest oils.
Getting there and tickets
The October sessions and the one at Ruiz Canela start at 20:30; the one in Las Navas at 20:00, and December's at 19:00. The activity is free, but you have to register beforehand at reservaonline.support (linked from turlucena.com). Places open on the 1st of each month at 10:00. Each booking takes two people, with name and phone number, and each person can only sign up for one pairing of each kind. Cancellations are made at turismo@aytolucena.es or on 957 51 32 82, 48 hours in advance. If there are no places left, you can ask by e-mail to join the waiting list.
