About the event
The Casa de Sefarad's Otoño de Culturas series, devoted this year to humour, has two dates in October: the debate ¿Límites al humor? De Salman Rushdie a Charlie Hebdo, on Thursday 8, with Carmen Torquemada, Concha Pérez Rojas and Sebastián de la Obra, and the talk Sonreír al abismo, by Giuseppe Palmieri, on Thursday 22. Both at 19:30.

The sessions
On Thursday 8 October the lawyer Carmen Torquemada, the journalist Concha Pérez Rojas and the founder of the Casa de Sefarad, Sebastián de la Obra, debate the limits of humour, taking the cases of Salman Rushdie and Charlie Hebdo as their reference. On Thursday 22 the researcher Giuseppe Palmieri gives the talk Sonreír al abismo. Del humor como resistencia a La vita è bella. Both start at 19:30.
Getting there
The Casa de Sefarad is at calle Judíos 2, on the corner of Averroes, in the heart of the Judería. Entry is free until full. The series also includes the exhibition Una declaración de humor, which opened in September and can be visited during the centre's opening hours.
