What it is
To accompany the exhibition “Tesoros en el Museo: Almadenes y Torredonjimeno”, the Museo Arqueológico de Córdoba is organising two technical sessions on 8 and 9 October 2026. Highly regarded specialists will examine the historical, technical and social side of these finds. The programme of papers covers Iberian and Visigothic goldwork, the sophistication of the Roman necropolis of Gades, the archaeological importance of the shipwrecks off Cádiz, the Andalusi hoard of Charilla and the caliphal coin collection held by the Córdoba museum itself. It is a date for anyone who wants to go deeper into what is in the display cases and understand what these pieces tell us about the times of upheaval in which they were hidden.
