What you'll see
The Mercado Medieval de Lucena runs for five days, from 8 to 12 October 2026, coinciding with the Pilar long weekend. Lancelot Medieval, a company that specialises in themed markets, fills the plaza de San Miguel, the plaza de Archidona and the area around the Castillo del Moral, the town's most recognisable monument, with stalls. It mixes crafts from various trades, traditional food to eat standing up among the stalls, live music, street parades and medieval-inspired shows, with the traders in costume and the stalls decorated in period style. It is a plan for strolling with the whole family, with no booking, that uses the historic setting of central Lucena as its stage.
Getting there and tickets
The market is spread across the plaza de San Miguel, the plaza de Archidona and the area around the Castillo del Moral, all in the centre of Lucena and a few minutes' walk from one another. Setting up begins on the morning of 8 October and the market stays open until Monday 12. The detailed opening hours and show times had not been published when the event was announced. As at street markets of this kind, you are free to wander. Organised by Lancelot Medieval (info@lancelotmedieval.com, 607 677 701).
