Cycling through Córdoba on the guardian's day
Mejor Córdoba en Bici, the programme through which the City Council's mobility department encourages cycling in the city, has a ride dedicated to San Rafael, Custodio de Córdoba (the city's guardian), on Saturday 24 October. That day is a local holiday, and the City Council also links it to the international day against climate change, so the idea is to celebrate both by cycling as a group through the city around the figure of the archangel.
Start, time and escort
The ride leaves at 11:00 from the Centro de Educación Vial, on the paseo de la Victoria. The group is escorted by Policía Local officers on bikes. The registration form points out that helmets are compulsory for anyone aged 0 to 16, both ages included, and the council's event page asks for helmets for the whole group, so the sensible thing is for everyone to wear one. The City Council has not published the exact route or distance.
How to sign up
The activity is free, but you must register in advance on the City Council's form. Places are given on a first-come, first-served basis and registration closes on Friday 23 October at 12:00. The form asks for your full name, DNI (Spanish ID number), email address, contact phone number and age. More information on the City Council's mobility website and on the Facebook page of the Centro de Educación Vial, CenBici. If you miss out on a place, there are more San Rafael plans in the city centre that same morning.
