In “La risa en verso”, poetry walks on stage with a clown's gait, gives the audience a sideways look and lets slip a truth wrapped in laughter. That is the idea from Pepe Viyuela's company, and he takes to the stage with this production himself. Verse, stage play and that very particular way of laughing at what is human: at the clumsy, at the absurd, at what we are when we lower our guard. A show where humour and the spoken word meet without either going stiff, as part of the Diputación de Córdoba's cultural programme in towns across the province.

The performance is on Tuesday 6 October at 20:30 at the Casa de la Cultura in Nueva Carteya, with an expected running time of an hour and a half. The Diputación de Córdoba's programme gives no price or ticket sales for this date, so it is worth asking the Ayuntamiento de Nueva Carteya about entry arrangements. It is organised by the Delegación de Cultura of the Diputación de Córdoba as part of its provincial circuit.
