A route through the city’s oldest cemetery
Cecosam, Córdoba’s municipal cemetery company, offers on Tuesday, October 27, from 17:30 to 19:00, a new guided tour of the route «La Ciudad de los Recuerdos I» at Cementerio de Nuestra Señora de la Salud. This is the second session of this route within its «Santos 2026» program for the All Saints’ Day celebration (the first was on October 22). The tour is part of the European Cemetery Route and is supported by posts with QR codes: scanning them with a mobile phone opens the explanation of each stop, which can be read or listened to in Spanish, French, or English. La Salud holds, among others, the graves of several bullfighting caliphs and the columbarium of poet Pablo García Baena.
How to reserve a spot
The visit is free, but you must reserve in advance through the Córdoba City Council’s appointment system at citaprevia.cordoba.es, selecting Cecosam (Municipal Cemeteries and Funeral Services) as the center. The system asks for name, ID, and mobile number. Cecosam has not published the capacity for each session. For questions, the company can be reached at 957 322 125. If there is no availability, the sister route, «La Ciudad de los Recuerdos II», takes place on Thursday, October 29 at the same time at Cementerio de San Rafael.
Special hours and how to get there
From October 23 to November 2, municipal cemeteries are open continuously from 08:30 to 19:30, so you can arrive early and stroll before the visit. Cementerio de Nuestra Señora de la Salud is located on Avenida de los Custodios, in the south of the historic center. During these days, Aucorsa strengthens bus line E, with direct stops at cemetery entrances. The same program includes a poetry recital in tribute to Grupo Cántico at La Salud on Saturday the 31st at 11:30.
