What it is
The Fiesta de los Patios, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, fills Córdoba with visitors every May. For 2028 the forecast is 1 May to 14 May 2028, two weeks between the Cruces and the Feria, pending municipal confirmation. The residents of San Basilio, Santa Marina, San Lorenzo and other neighbourhoods of the old town open their homes to show patios packed with flowerpots, geraniums, bougainvillea and wells. In 2026, 64 patios opened and 53 took part in the municipal competition, which rewards upkeep and floral decoration.
Getting there and tickets
Visiting the competition patios is free and no ticket is needed, although at peak times there are queues in the best-known areas. In 2026 they opened in two sessions, from 11 am to 2 pm and from 6 pm to 10 pm, closing early on the last day. The City Council publishes a map and programme with routes by neighbourhood so you can do the tour on foot at your own pace. There are also paid guided tours run by private companies, although they are not needed to get in.
