What it is
The Cruces de Mayo open Córdoba's festive month. For 2028 they are expected from 27 April to 30 April 2028, following the usual calendar ahead of the Patios; the City Council confirms the dates in spring. Brotherhoods, residents' associations and peñas set up large crosses dressed in carnations, flowerpots and Manila shawls in squares, patios and enclosures in neighbourhoods such as San Basilio, San Andrés, Santa Marina and San Agustín. Each cross has its bar with tapas and drinks, sevillanas play and at night there is dancing. In 2026, 52 crosses took part in the municipal competition, with prizes of up to 2,000 euros per category.
Getting there and tickets
Entry to the crosses is free, and the map and programme showing where they all are can be downloaded from the City Council's tourism website. In 2026 they opened from 12 noon to midnight on the first day, until 2 am from Thursday to Saturday and until 4 pm on Sunday; similar hours are to be expected. Almost all of them are in the old town and can be visited on foot. It is organised by the Delegación de Promoción de la Ciudad of Córdoba City Council, which runs the municipal competition.
