In July the 47th edition of the Festival de la Guitarra will bring together flamenco, classical, rock and pop concerts, as well as a training programme. What it is
The Festival de la Guitarra de Córdoba is the big musical event of the Córdoba summer and one of the most important guitar festivals in the world. In 2028 it will reach its 47th edition, presumably in the first half of July, as usual. It combines concerts and shows by Spanish and international artists in very different styles (flamenco, classical, jazz, rock and pop) with courses and training activities for guitarists. In 2026 the line-up included Paco Peña, Love of Lesbian, Los Planetas and Cañizares with the Orquesta de Córdoba. Each edition's line-up is announced in spring.
Getting there and tickets
The big concerts are held at the Teatro de la Axerquía, in the open air, and at the Gran Teatro de Córdoba, on the Avenida del Gran Capitán, both in the centre. Tickets are sold at the official box office on entradas.teatrocordoba.es once the programme is published. It is organised by the Instituto Municipal de las Artes Escénicas (IMAE) of Córdoba City Council; full information appears on teatrocordoba.es. Note: the dates given are an estimate based on the usual calendar, not an official announcement. Before planning your trip, check for confirmation on the organiser's website, which usually publishes it a few months ahead, and book accommodation in advance if you are coming from elsewhere.
