What it is
The Cata del Vino Montilla-Moriles is the great annual showcase of Córdoba's designation of origin, and in 2028 it will hold its 42nd edition. It usually takes up four days at the end of April, just before the festive month of May; the forecast is 20 April to 23 April 2028. Wineries from the D.O. offer their finos, amontillados, olorosos and Pedro Ximénez, and several of the city's restaurants serve tapas to go with them. In 2026 ten wineries and five restaurants took part, and the central ticket booth was done away with. It is organised by the Consejo Regulador de la D.O.P. Montilla-Moriles.
Getting there and tickets
The site is set up on the Avenida del Alcázar, beside the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos and a few minutes' walk from the Mezquita. In 2026 it opened from 12 noon to 8 pm, and on the last day until 5 pm, with free entry. You pay at each stand, in cash or by card: the glass cost 2 euros and each tasting from 3 euros. The final dates and the list of wineries are published on cata.montillamoriles.es.
