What it is

What lies in between (Lo que queda entremedias) is the winning exhibition of the fifth edition of the NUR open call, organised with PHotoESPAÑA. It brings together work by Taysir Batniji, Tamara Kalo and Tanya Traboulsi, curated by Ana Belén García Mula, and was chosen from 17 international entries to give visibility to Arab societies. Under the theme “Después de todo”, it takes a critical look at the aftermath of conflict, resilience and memory. Batniji evokes displaced people and lost homes through something as everyday as a set of keys; Kalo pays tribute to the olive tree as a symbol of continuity and photographs a former detention centre in Beirut now taken over by nature. Photography appears as a witness to history, loss and resistance.

Getting there and tickets

The exhibition is at Casa Árabe's Córdoba home, at calle Samuel de los Santos Gener, 9 (14003 Córdoba), right in the old town, very close to the Mezquita-Catedral. It can be visited until 16 October 2026, Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:30 to 20:00; it is closed at weekends and on public holidays, so it is best to plan your visit for a weekday. The council listing does not give an admission price. All the programme information is on the Casa Árabe website, casaarabe.es, which also publishes its weekly diary of activities in Córdoba.
