What it is
The University of Córdoba's Cátedra “¿En qué te puedo ayudar?-Humanizando el Cáncer”, the Centro de Desarrollo de Lucena and the town council are organising “Nutrición y Cáncer”, two sessions led by Ángela Fernández, who holds a doctorate in nutrition and a master's in clinical nutrition and metabolism. On 2 October, “Alimentación y cáncer: entender para cuidarse” covers eating during treatment, the nutritional goals at each stage, how to avoid losing weight and muscle mass and how to adapt your diet to side effects. It also debunks myths about sugar, fasting, detox or alkaline diets and supplements. On 16 October, the workshop “Del conocimiento al plato” teaches how to read labels, plan menus and prepare balanced meals.
Getting there and registration
Both sessions are at the Casa de los Mora in Lucena, on Friday 2 and Friday 16 October 2026, from 17:00 to 19:00. They are free and open to everyone until capacity is reached, but each requires its own registration, which is done on the website of the UCO's Cátedra Humanizando el Cáncer. They are designed for patients, relatives and anyone interested in prevention and looking after their health in the face of cancer.
