This autumn the Filmoteca de Andalucía is devoting a retrospective to Paul Thomas Anderson, one of the most ambitious directors in contemporary American cinema, heir to the independent film-making of the 1970s and known for his characters on the edge and their stormy family relationships. In October three titles are being shown in Córdoba in the original language with subtitles. On Thursday 1, “Phantom Thread” (2017), with Daniel Day-Lewis as a couturier in post-war London whose life changes when he meets Alma. On Thursday 8, “The Master” (2012), with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix, about the birth of a religious organisation in the 1950s. And on Thursday 15, his most recent film, “One Battle After Another” (2025).

The screenings are at the Filmoteca de Andalucía, calle Medina y Corella 5. “Phantom Thread” and “The Master” start at 20:00; “One Battle After Another”, at 19:30. Each screening costs 0.90 euros.
