What you'll see

Legado del Recuerdo is the first original creation by Lourdes Galisteo, an actress and dancer from Puente Genil, who conceived it, directs it and stars in it. The show fuses dance, physical theatre and music, and takes its soundtrack from Puente Genil's Semana Santa, the Mananta: processional marches, chants by the Schola Cantorum Santa Cecilia and saetas cuarteleras, the style of singing peculiar to the cuarteles, the houses of the town's biblical brotherhoods. Galisteo presents it as a tribute to those who are no longer here and as a way of telling with the body what words cannot hold. On stage she is joined by Saúl Silos, Ángela Morón and María Magdalena Morón.

From a social media video to the Teatro Circo

The idea was born when Galisteo danced to a processional march and shared it on social media. The response was so good that Puente Genil's Mesa Local de la Juventud encouraged her to turn it into a full show, which she has produced herself with that association and in collaboration with the town council's Delegación de Cultura. It was presented in September at the town hall, alongside the councillor for culture, María Delgado. It is a piece made in Puente Genil, meant both for those who live the Mananta from the inside and for anyone who wants to discover it from the stalls.

Getting there and tickets

There are two performances, on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 October 2026, both at 21:00, at the Teatro Circo in Puente Genil, on calle Jesús, a theatre dating from 1902 with just over 300 seats. Tickets cost €10 and are sold in advance at the Papelería La Ideal and at the theatre box office. The show is for all ages. With a capacity that small, it is best not to leave buying until the last day.
