Six days of feria over the Pilar long weekend
The Feria del Rosario is Montoro's big autumn festival and one of the last on the calendar of ferias in the province of Córdoba. In 2026 it runs from Wednesday 7 to Monday 12 October, so it takes in the whole of the Pilar long weekend: anyone who can't make it midweek has the Saturday, the Sunday and the bank holiday Monday. As at any small-town feria, the atmosphere is split between midday, with the casetas (the feria's marquees) full at lunchtime, and the night, with the rides lit up and music until late. Entry to the fairground and the casetas is free.
María Peláe in the bullring
The musical date the town council has announced is the María Peláe concert, on Saturday 10 October at 22:00 in Montoro's bullring. The singer from Málaga mixes flamenco, humour and social comment, and arrives with “El Evangelio”, her fourth studio album. It is the feria event with the most pull beyond the town, so allow extra time to park. Entry arrangements for the concert had not been published when this page was written: the town council will confirm them.
Getting there and what to bear in mind
Montoro is about 45 kilometres from Córdoba on the A-4 dual carriageway, heading towards Madrid, a little over half an hour by car. The old town, a listed historic-artistic site, rises above a meander of the Guadalquivir and has narrow, steep streets: the sensible thing is to leave the car at the top of town or on the approach roads and walk down. If you go by day, the feria combines well with a stroll to the puente de las Donadas and the plaza de España. This website does not organise the feria: each day's programme, the times and any last-minute changes are published by the Ayuntamiento de Montoro on its official channels.
