What you'll see
The conference studies the relationship between Luis de Góngora and sor Juana Inés de la Cruz under the idea of “magnitud dual”, a term borrowed from physics that points to a reciprocity between the two. Martha Lilia Tenorio (El Colegio de México) opens on Wednesday 7 at 11:00 with “Robando la clava de Hércules: los versos de Góngora en sor Juana”. That afternoon, at 18:00, Ignacio Arellano (Universidad de Navarra) speaks. On Thursday 8 come Alice Brooke (Oxford) at 10:00 and Tadeo Pablo Stein (UNAM) at 18:00. On Friday 9, at 10:00, Mercedes Blanco (Sorbonne) closes with “Sor Juana frente a Góngora: aprendizaje y arte alusiva”. A first-rate date for anyone with a taste for the Spanish Golden Age.
