The film
In Walter Salles's “Central Station”, a former teacher makes a living at Rio de Janeiro's main station writing letters for people who cannot write. One day she ends up looking after a boy left on his own, and the two set off on a journey through the country's interior in search of his father. Made in 1998, it runs 115 minutes and is shown in its original version with subtitles.
The Carretera season
The Filmoteca's “Carretera” season brings together films about the journey as discovery, escape and change. This session takes place on Thursday 12 November 2026 at 20:30 at the Filmoteca de Andalucía, calle Medina y Corella 5, next to the Mezquita. Tickets cost €0.90.
