History told by those who lived it
Pendaripen means history in Romani, and that is what this documentary by Alfonso Sánchez offers: a look at the path of one of Europe's most persecuted peoples, told by Roma women and men. It combines archive footage, original music and accounts from writers, researchers, lawyers, activists and artists, and pauses on episodes such as the Great Round-up of the 18th century and the stigma under Franco, without forgetting the cultural mixing that gave rise to flamenco.
When, where and price
The Filmoteca de Andalucía screens it in Córdoba on Tuesday 17 November 2026 at 19:00, coinciding with Roma Day and in collaboration with the Fundación Secretariado Gitano. It is shown in the original Spanish version at the venue on calle Medina y Corella, 5. Tickets cost 0,90 €.
