The Image of the South is a social film showcase organized by the Córdoba-based association CIC Batá since 2002, with some interruptions, and is considered the city's most longstanding film event. The XXI edition takes place from November 13 to 20, 2026, at the Andalucía Film Archive in Córdoba, featuring screenings and talks. It is supported by the Córdoba City Council and in collaboration with the Junta de Andalucía through the Film Archive.
What kind of cinema
The 2026 call accepted documentaries, fiction, and animation produced between 2024 and 2026, covering topics such as the environment and ecology, communication and citizenship, political struggles and social movements, food sovereignty, and human rights. The festival is non-competitive and functions as a film forum, with the presence of social organizations and protagonists of the stories during the sessions.

Entry is free until the capacity of the Medina y Corella 5 room, next to the Mosque-Cathedral, is reached. The detailed program, including titles, schedules, and daily guests, is published on the La Imagen del Sur website and the Andalucía Film Archive site, which notes that activities are subject to change.
