Don Juan through Viana's courtyards
El Burlador en Palacio is a multidisciplinary show that moves through several of Palacio de Viana's courtyards, which become successive stages. The production blends verse, prose, lyricism, and epic tales, exploring the divine and human, to portray the true Don Juan, a character traditionally linked to the All Saints period. It’s an itinerant performance: audiences follow the action from courtyard to courtyard with no seating provided.
Cast
Juan Carlos Villanueva plays the Trickster, and Belén Benítez portrays Doña Inés. The Comendador is played by Francisco Montero or Rafael Montero, while Doña Ana, Zerlina, and Doña Elvira are performed by Inmaculada Almeda or Isabel López. Rafael Díaz appears as Don Giovanni, a nod to the operatic version of the myth, with the Córdoba Opera Choir participating. The show lasts about 70 minutes.
