What it is / What you'll see

Priego hosts The Barber of Seville, by Gioachino Rossini, as part of the Ópera en la Provincia programme, which last year brought Don Pasquale to the same stage. The production is by the Córdoba company, with Alberto Cubero as musical director and Guillermo Arza as stage director; Helena Cordenao's set design is inspired by the Spain of the fifties and sixties. The cast brings together Spanish and international artists and there will be surtitles. The performance is for charity: the proceeds will go to Cuidando el Alma, a Priego association that supports people through bereavement and advanced illness and works on suicide prevention. The evening before, on Saturday 17 at 19:00, the Museo Adolfo Lozano Sidro hosts an open session of the Aula de Ópera with Cubero.

Getting there and tickets

The performance is on Sunday 18 October 2026 at 11:30 at the Teatro Victoria in Priego de Córdoba. Tickets cost 10 euros and seating is unreserved; there is also a "fila cero" (donation ticket) for anyone who wants to make a contribution. They are sold at several partner shops and at the Teatro Victoria box office on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 18:00 to 20:00. It is organised by Priego Town Council as part of Ópera en la Provincia.
