What it is and what you'll see
The Provincial Council's environmental education campaign opens its 2026-2027 edition with its big new feature: a double route of about 20 kilometres in Belalcázar. It joins two itineraries from the Paisajes con Historia catalogue. The Monte Malagón route leaves from the Plaza de la Constitución, crosses the San Pedro bridge, follows the river bend with the Cotillo and Malagón mills and enters a stone pine wood before climbing to the old citadel. The Fuentes y Pozos route takes in the Bomba well, the Vieja spring and the Ahogada spring, places that supplied the town with water for centuries. The day is rounded off with a visit to the Castillo de los Sotomayor y Zúñiga, with its 45-metre keep.
