What it is
Aromas de al-Ándalus is a workshop devoted to perfumery held at the Conjunto Arqueológico de Madinat al-Zahra itself, the palace city that Abd al-Rahman III built in the 10th century on the outskirts of Córdoba. During the session the ancient scents of the al-Andalus period are recreated, that is, the perfumes that were made and worn in caliphal Córdoba, with the aim of making them again. It is one of the activities the site has programmed for this season and is recommended from the age of 8, so it can be a family morning out combined with a visit to the archaeological site.
Getting there and tickets
The workshop is on Sunday 18 October 2026 at 11:30 at the Conjunto Arqueológico Madinat al-Zahra, Carretera de Palma del Río km 5.5, about eight kilometres from the centre of Córdoba. The source gives neither a price nor a registration system, so check the site's calendar before you go. It is organised by the Conjunto Arqueológico Madinat al-Zahra (Junta de Andalucía). The workshop is part of the site's seasonal programme of activities and is recommended for ages 8 and over.
