Gachas up for competition
Gachas are the sweet treat of this season in many Córdoba villages, and in Conquista they celebrate with a popular contest. On Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 5:00 PM, the village square gathers anyone who wants to present their homemade gachas. There is a prize for those the jury considers the best and another for the person best dressed as a gachera. It is organized by the Conquista Town Hall and the Adult Continuing Education Center. No prior sign-up is needed: just bring your dish of gachas to the square and participate there. The public can come to watch the contest and costume parade. Conquista is located in the Pedroches valley, in the northeastern tip of the province.
