About the event
Dos Torres celebrates Candlemas, a Festival of Tourist Interest of Andalusia since 2022, around a great bonfire in the Plaza de la Villa. There is an open market, jotas serranas, historical re-enactments, video mapping, fire shows and a food fair, and each year a guest village. It is held on the weekend closest to 2 February (30 and 31 January in 2026). The 2027 date is still to be confirmed.

What it is / What you will see
The Candelaria in Dos Torres is one of the most deeply rooted festivals in Los Pedroches and opens the area's festive calendar. The centrepiece is a great bonfire symbolising purification and the driving out of evil spirits. Around it, the Plaza de la Villa and the Plaza de Torrefranca are dressed in period style with an open craft market, dramatised historical re-enactments, video mapping on the history of the village, jotas serranas, live music, falconry and fire shows. In 2026 there was also the 27th Muestra Gastronómica under the arcades, a guided visit to the Pozo de la Nieve and a guest village, Villanueva del Duque. According to the Diputación, the festival draws some 10,000 visitors a year.
Getting there and tickets
The festival is held in the Plaza de la Villa and the Plaza de Torrefranca in Dos Torres, and the activities are free. It is organised by the Town Council with the support of the Diputación de Córdoba through Iprodeco. The 2026 edition was on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 January. For 2027 the weekend of 29 and 30 January is expected, although the Town Council has not yet published the programme. Dos Torres is in the north of the province, an hour and a half from Córdoba by car on the N-502.
