What it is

Simon Trpčeski, born in Macedonia in 1979, is one of the guest pianists at the XXIV Orozco Piano Festival. Launched onto the international scene as a BBC New Generation Artist, he has played with more than a hundred orchestras on four continents and has been a regular guest at London's Wigmore Hall since 2001. His recordings of the Rachmaninoff concertos with Vasily Petrenko and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic are benchmarks. In Córdoba he offers a programme with a Russian and French flavour: Tchaikovsky's Dumka, The Nutcracker suite in Mikhail Pletnev's transcription, including the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Russian Dance, and Ravel's Valses nobles et sentimentales. A recital of virtuosity and colour at a reduced price.
