The Pregon that Opens Custodian's Day
Every autumn, the Córdoba Fan Clubs Federation celebrates the San Rafael festivities, patron and protector of Córdoba, with one of its main events being the Pregon. In 2026, it takes place on Friday, October 23 at 8:30 p.m., the eve of October 24, a local holiday. The event is held at the Visitors Reception Center in Plaza del Triunfo, near the Roman Bridge and just steps from the San Rafael Triumph, one of the most famous monuments to the archangel.
Andrés Lorite, Pregonero
This year's Pregon is delivered by Andrés Lorite Lorite, first vice president of the Córdoba Provincial Council. He is introduced by Olga Caballero Marín, a member of the Córdoba Brotherhoods and Confraternities Group. The Pregon is a speech dedicated to San Rafael and the city, and in previous editions, the Federation has published the text afterward for those who wish to read it at leisure.
How to Attend
Admission is free until full capacity, with no invitation or prior reservation required, so it is advisable to arrive early. The event is part of the San Rafael weekend in Córdoba, which includes that same night concerts by musical groups and a serenade at the Church of the Oath, and the next day a mass in honor of the archangel. More information is available on the Córdoba Fan Clubs Federation website.
