What you'll see
This is one of the most important evenings of the 24th edition of the Festival Internacional de Piano Rafael Orozco. The Miami International Piano Festival, founded in 1997 by Giselle Brodsky, comes to Córdoba with three of its most representative pianists: Ilya Itin, Gold Medallist at Leeds in 1996; Josu de Solaun, the only Spaniard to win first prize at the José Iturbi and George Enescu competitions; and Kemal Gekić, famous for his Liszt recordings. They will perform with the Orquesta de Córdoba, conducted by its principal conductor Salvador Vázquez, in a programme that takes in great concertos for piano and orchestra by Rachmaninov, Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky. The concert arises from an agreement between the two festivals and pays tribute to Rafael Orozco, in whose career the United States and Miami played a key part.
