What you will see
La Bayadère is one of the jewels of the Paris Opera's repertoire, and this version by Rudolf Nureyev, based on Marius Petipa's choreography to music by Ludwig Minkus, is a benchmark of classical ballet. It was filmed at the Opéra Bastille during the performances of 26 and 29 June 2026, directed for the screen by Julien Condemine and conducted by Koen Kessels. Dorothée Gilbert is Nikiya, the temple dancer; Hugo Marchand, the warrior Solor; Roxane Stojanov, Gamzatti; and Thomas Docquir, the Golden Idol. The most eagerly awaited moment is the Kingdom of the Shades act, with 32 ballerinas in white tracing their arabesques in unison.
