What it is
The conference 'Caminos de la Religiosidad: patrimonio, identidad y expresiones culturales en Andalucía' introduces the project 'Religiosidad Popular e Identidad Andaluza', by the Instituto Universitario de Historia Simancas and the Fundación Centro de Estudios Andaluces (CENTRA). On Friday 23 it is opened by Jesús María Ruiz Carrasco (Universidad de Córdoba) with a paper on art and iconography in Holy Week in Puente Genil. Afterwards, Francisco Javier Crespo (Universidad de Valladolid) chairs a round table. On Saturday 24 the speakers are José Luis Anta Félez (Universidad de Jaén), with 'Las Semanas Santas en Andalucía', and the composer Abel Moreno, with 'La música en las procesiones'. There is another round table on social and economic impact with Tristán Pertíñez, Ana Rocío Andreu and Ricardo Rojas, and a tribute to Salvador Rodríguez Becerra.
Getting there and tickets
The conference is held at the headquarters of the Imperio Romano corporation, at Calle Casares, 9, in Puente Genil. On Friday 23 October the session runs from 18:00 to 20:30, and on Saturday 24, from 10:00 to 19:00. The event is free. The programme of the Red Europea de Celebraciones de Semana Santa y Pascua points to a registration form. The conference is part of that programme and of the Puente Genil tourist office's calendar.
