A modernist classic
Hiroshima, mon amour, directed by Alain Resnais in 1959 from a screenplay by Marguerite Duras, tells of the last night in Hiroshima of a French actress who has just finished shooting a film there. What begins as a fleeting encounter with a Japanese man becomes an intense affair that brings back memories of an impossible love lived years earlier in Nevers. It is screened in black and white, in the original version with subtitles.
A conversation about Duras
The screening is accompanied by a conversation between Alfonso Crespo and Santiago Gallego about Los ojos verdes, the book Marguerite Duras wrote closely tied to her relationship with cinema. The session is held in collaboration with the Institut Français and is one of November's special screenings at the Córdoba venue. It is on Wednesday 25 November 2026 at 19:00 at the Filmoteca de Andalucía, calle Medina y Corella, 5. Tickets cost 0,90 €.
