La Colonia's Book Fair
The Book Fair is a fixed event of La Colonia de Fuente Palmera's Cultural Autumn, the program through which the City Council fills October to December with theater, music, flamenco, and literature. In 2026 it takes place from October 23 to 30 at Casa de la Memoria, organized by Indya bookstore and stationery shop, the local business that also managed the previous edition.
What you can do
The fair brings together new releases and titles for all ages, making it perfect for buying books for home or getting ahead on gifts. In the mornings, it welcomes visits from students of La Colonia's schools and institutes, and the program includes reading promotion activities, storytelling, and other proposals. The City Council encourages locals and visitors to stop by and support the local book trade.
More Cultural Autumn that week
The fair coincides with the main week of the Cultural Autumn. On Tuesday the 27th there is a tribute to the singer Fosforito with a performance by Inma del Río, on Wednesday the 28th the intergenerational activity “My grandparent is unique” at Casa de la Memoria, and on Friday the 30th October closes with the play “La familia del anticuario” at Centro Cultural Paco el Cura. Entry to the fair is free; opening hours are to be confirmed.
