Puente Genil's quince on the menu
DePlato Membrillo is a route organized by the Puente Genil City Council through its Tourism Department to highlight one of the town's most renowned products. Over two weeks, each participating venue adds a quince-based dish to their menu. The event is organized by Eva's La Piensateca consultancy with support from the Córdoba Provincial Council via Iprodeco; last edition served around 500 plates.
Where to try it
Participating venues include Alex de Luna Cheesecake, Alma Ezequiel Montilla, Hotel El Carmen, Casa Pedro, Veracruz Pastry Shop, KonSentido, La Despensa de la Barca, La Marina, Mesón Manantero, Nolito's Burger, and Packusito. Dishes include Moroccan lemon mousse with raspberry and quince cream, cheese tart with quince, pork loin escalopes with quince compote in Pedro Ximénez, cheese crisp with walnuts, apple, and quince, and quince pepper soup.
Vote and win
Participants can vote for their favorite dish via a QR code. A draw among voters offers a 150-euro voucher redeemable at one of the participating venues. Each establishment sets its own price for the dish.
